Below it are the rows of the first vice-presidents of the Counoil of Ministers, the vice-presidents of the Council of Ministers and the state ministers. Simultaneously with the specification of departmental ministers, the chart also illustrates the setting up of the ministries, i.e. their reorganization. Columns representing the size of the respective ministries were fixed from a graphic point of view, so that no other conclusions -- unless those referring to their splitting up or, conversely fusion -- can be drawn. The individual governments are divided "by a green line. Appointments, the dates of entering the office or leaving the office are indicated -- aside from the division marking the years-- by dates standing before and after the name. Insofar as this could not Toe well read, the enclosed "list of names" might serve as a help. If the appointment of office coincides with the date of the formation of a new government, a dot is put over the green line, in view of the fact that the date of the formation of the government can be read anyway. The chart does not pretend to be complete. For example other persons called from time to time to the Council of Ministers are not specified. Inasmuch when some data are missing, a dotted line or an interrogation mark will denote this. Abbrevations: 1 - temporarily assigned to the leaders of the Ministry; m. ,mb - assigned for the leadership of the Ministry. Mark[*] in Imre Nagy's Premiership refers to the fact that the members of his revolutionary cabinet are not listed on the chart, but on a separate list we have enclosed. Enclosed list of names complies with in alphabetic and chronological order, the positions ocoupied by each respective person.
